The Town Board is responsible for the town’s administration and finances, prepares matters to be decided on by the Council and is in charge of implementing the Council’s decisions.

The Town Board represents the town, is mandated to speak for the town and carries out various legal procedures on its behalf. The Town Board has 9 members and each member has a personal substitute. Presidents of the Council can also take part in meetings of the Board, and they have right of audience at the meetings.

Board meetings are not public, but the decisions generally are. The decisions are announced through the media. The agendas and minutes of the Town Board can also be read on the Town’s website under Agendas and minutes (in Finnish) and at the Town Library.
