Northern Ostrobothnia’s climate strategy
In 2009, the Northern Ostrobothnia Association initiated work to prepare a provincial climate strategy. The preparatory work was implemented in Northern Ostrobothnia’s climate strategy project which aimed to produce a provincial climate change objective and initiate a continuous process for adapting to the change in the provincial area.
In addition, the project’s objective was to increase awareness about the provincial significance of climate and climate change, create prerequisites for regional collaboration on the matter, improve readiness to adapt to change and promote the control of climate change. The climate strategy approved by the provincial government in 2010 implements the European and national climate objectives on a provincial basis.
